Initial Ideas

For my final major project, I am going to produce a Fashion Magazine as well as keeping a production journal to keep track of the progress of my work. To go alongside this, I will create a blog to keep record all my designing research and market research.  I have decided to create a fashion magazine because I love to read fashion magazines myself and I have a strong interest in fashion. I feel as though I could have a lot to write about and create my own images (photoshoots) to use in this project. I also feel like this is a good project for me to practice my graphic skills. I have named my magazine 'Lillie' this is because my name is Lily but I wanted it to look different from the spelling of my name. I feel as though this name looks classy when wrote of the front cover, it is also short and snappy. Most magazines use one-word names eg 'ELLE' I wanted my magazine to follow other fashion magazine styles. 

For my magazine, I am going to take my own photographs of different fashions and beauty styles. I will use different areas/scenes for the backgrounds and different clothes for each picture. I am also going to create ‘trending pages’ to show my readers what is currently trending in the fashion and beauty industry. These will include a picture of the product as well as the price and where to buy the product from. 

I will include articles in my magazine. Currently, I am thinking of writing an article about Acne and how to get control of it and an article about self-confidence. I feel as though these articles choices are good because these are hat teenagers struggle with facing every day. 

I want my magazine to look clean and modern, sticking with a basic colour theme and use a classy font. So far I think my magazine will include 20 pages as well as the front and back cover.
