Research Methods
When researching for my magazine, I will use many different types of research so I can make my product the best it can be.
When looking into secondary research I will look at similar products. For this, I will look through other fashion and beauty magazines to get inspiration for my own. As well as this I am going to look through fashion blogs, I feel as though this is a good idea because a blog is a more modern way of writing a magazine. Reading blogs I can get fashion ideas to add to my own magazine. During my time looking at other products I can see the types of content I can use in my own work.
I have created a board on Pinterest for my ideas and inspirations. Pinterest is a good site to use to see what other people like as well as popular designs. This can help when using my magazine because I can make to look appealing to readers.
For mt secondary research, I will also be looking into historical information. I will use this when researching for my colour theory and shape theory and audience theory, as I will be looking into the founders of these theories.
When creating my magazine I will need to know how to put it together so I will need to research these skills. When wanting to research for this I may use Wikihow and Youtube.
I will also be looking at my target audience. By doing this I am going to use the website YouGov to find out what types of market magazines like my own target.
The lady who inspires me for my FMP is Anna Wintour. She has been the publisher for Vogue since 2013. Before that, she was the chief editor in 1988 and artistic director for Condé Nast. I find Anna very inspirational because she was hard-working and creative. I find her job very exhilarating.
For my Primary research, I am going to create a survey on Survey Monkey. I will use open-ended and closed questions for people to answer. I feel as though this is a good way to find out more information on what people would like from my magazine because I can ask questions that are relevant to creating my work.
